Dr. Shen (Huisheng) Xie, Founder and President of the Chi Institute, has been promoted to Clinical Professor within the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Xie, one of the WATCVM’s founding Board of Directors, also serves as WATCVM Vice President. In addition to Dr. Xie’s remarkable strides in teaching, research and his publication record, he has also achieved international recognition within this specialized field, an important criterion for promotion from associate to full professor. Dr. Xie’s promotion is a testimony to his global recognition in TCVM. His peers and students credit him with introducing TCVM in the West, and they therefore consider him the father of TCVM in Western countries. Dr. Xie, a humble man brought-up in China, mentions his love for TCVM, “Since I was a young boy, my grandfather often told me, ’Every man has his own path, and so long as you are diligent, you will find yours.’ I firmly believe that teaching and fostering TCVM is my path and my life’s destination.” So far, Dr. Xie has taught TCVM to over 6,000 veterinarians from 70 countries and regions, with many more to come.
