The World Association of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (WATCVM) supports the education, research and practice of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) worldwide. The primary missions of the WATCVM include: promoting the education of TCVM by providing financial support to veterinary students, assisting in the development and functions of TCVM Student Associations at veterinary colleges, funding basic and applied research projects and providing recognition for findings at the annual TCVM conferences, developing TCVM research standards through the International Organization for Standards, and assisting developing countries with a per capita income of less than $4,000 USD to develop TCVM programs at veterinary colleges and award scholarships to students.In an effort to support the education, research and practice of TCVM, the WATCVM provides practitioners with the following resources:

  • Access to the Case Discussion Forum:
    - Ask and discuss general TCVM questions and give and receive prompt advice about specific cases daily
    - Review the archives by species and topic of discussion to receive help on cases and for continued education

  • Subscription to the American Journal of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (AJTCVM):
    - Have electronic access to all past AJTCVM issues for review, continued education and manuscript preparation

  • Quarterly electronic TCVM Newsletter

  • Discounts on select TCVM conferences

  • Access to the TCVM Electronic Library:
    - Useful for review, continued education and manuscript preparation

  • An 'Introduction to Acupuncture' PowerPoint presentation and dialogue:
    - For local and state veterinary association meetings and for lay presentations

  • Listing in the public Practitioner Directory:
    - Useful as a referral source for non-TCVM veterinarians, a public service source for potential clients and communication with other TCVM veterinarians in your area
