About the American Journal of TCVM

Welcome to the American Journal of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine.

Our History:

The American Journal of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine is an international, peer-reviewed journal for the publication of the highest-quality, original scientific research in all branches of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM). The AJTCVM was established by experienced TCVM practitioners in 2006, to promote the generation of evidence-based, scientific research in veterinary acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Tui-na and food therapy.

The AJTCVM is the official journal of the American Association of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (AATCVM), the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture (AAVA), the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS), and the World Association of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (WATCVM). The AJTCVM is published twice yearly and contains high-quality basic science and clinical research in Veterinary Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Tui-na and Food Therapy in a wide variety of species. In addition, review articles, commentaries,  pearls from TCVM practice and brief communications are included to provide relevant clinical information.  Subscription to the AJTCVM will expand and enhance the practitioner's TCVM knowledge while promoting the publication of high-quality TCVM research.

Membership with the AATCVM, WATCVM, AAVA, or IVAS includes an online subscription to AJTCVM.

Our Mission:

The mission of the AJTCVM is to provide practitioners, students and researchers with the highest level of peer-reviewed articles on veterinary acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Tui-na and food therapy, to promote the generation and publication of scientific research on the efficacy of these therapies in animals and to support the practice of evidence-based medicine.
