2020 Annual Conference

22nd Annual International Conference on TCVM Overview

The 2020 Annual International Conference on TCVM will take place on the Chi Institute US campus in beautiful Reddick, Florida on November 19th to 22nd, 2020. The conference theme will center around Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary Diseases in Dogs, Cats & Horses. Past conferences have been hosted in China, Spain, and Canada as well as the USA. This International TCVM Conference is hosted by the Chi Institute and co-sponsored by the World Association of TCVM. The Annual TCVM Conference has been conducted every year since 1999. It provides a great opportunity for veterinarians to learn from the top TCVM experts, meet TCVM practitioners from all over the world, and enjoy hands-on experience in TCVM. Additionally, TCVM practitioners and research scientists from around the world are invited to speak about their clinical experiences and research findings.

Call For Abstracts

We are very pleased to invite veterinary acupuncture and TCVM clinicians and researchers to submit abstracts for presentation during the 22nd International Conference on TCVM (ICTCVM), held at the Chi Institute Campus in Reddick, Florida, USA from November 19 to 22 (Thursday to Sunday), 2020. The main theme of this conference will be “TCVM for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary Diseases and Behavioral Issues in Dogs, Cats and Horses” along with 3 workshops (Integrative Approach to Feline Medicine, Exotic and Zoo Animals, and Equine TCVM Scanning and Lameness Diagnosis).

Presentation Categories

  • Submissions may span multiple topics – please indicate all applicable categories when submitting an abstract.
  • Clinical Research including any study on the efficacy or safety/side effect(s) of any TCVM therapeutic, clinically randomized and controlled studies, or a retrospective study of a series of cases of a disease or syndrome. This is a 30-minute presentation.
  • Clinical Application including any new acupuncture techniques/methods, herbal formulas, or Tui-na/food therapy treatments in dogs, cats or horses. This is a 30-minute presentation.
  • How to, including pearls and clinical tips of how to diagnose and/or treat a disease or medical condition/syndrome in dogs, cats, horses, or exotic and zoo animals. This is a 30-minute presentation.
  • A Case Study including any unique or special case in a dog, cat, horse, or other species. This is a 10-minute presentation.

Presentation Awards
Each selected 30-minute presentation will be awarded $300 and each selected 10-minute presentation will be awarded $150. The awards will be subtracted from the conference registration dues. A certificate will be awarded to the first-place presenter in each category.

Abstract Format
The abstract must be submitted in a single-spaced Microsoft Word document and must be no more than two pages in length. Abstracts may be sent by email as an attachment identified as “Abstract TCVM Conference” in the e-mail subject line. The abstract must include the following items:

  • Curriculum Vitae (Resume)
  • Short bio: Example “Dr. Huisheng Xie is a clinical professor of University of Florida (UF). He received his DVM in 1983 and Master Degree in 1988 in China, and Ph.D. from UF. In 1998, Dr. Xie founded the Chi Institute in Florida to train veterinarians in acupuncture, herbal medicine, Food Therapy and Tui-na.”
